Paul Wolfowitz was born on December 22, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York City.
He is the son of Jacob Wolfowitz, a prominent mathematician, and Lilian Dunndes Wolfowitz. Wolfowitz grew up in Ithaca, New York, where his father taught at Cornell University.
